About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Fika is a daily Swedish ritual during which participants slow down, take a break, and enjoy a coffee, a sweet snack, and a good conversation. Teaching and Learning is excited to borrow from the fika tradition to offer instructors the chance to come together for an informal discussion of a topic of current importance to teaching at Trent. Our inaugural Teaching and Learning Fika will take place on November 21st at 10am on both the Peterborough and Durham campuses. In November, we will focus on reading and learning at Trent considering questions such as the state of student reading at Trent, whether reading should be taught as a disciplinary skill, and how instructors can effectively support their students in developing good reading practices. You can attend our Fika on the Peterborough campus (in Bata 206), or the Durham campus (DRA A115) and enjoy coffee and treats. We hope to see you there!
