About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Group processing may be an area deserving of more time in communities, organically through conversations, breathwork and movement, which is how TEAO has begun to address trauma care and trauma health in communities.

TEAO Canada will hold space for participants, led by Nicole Brown Faulknor — as both an embodiment coach and psychotherapist. Nicole will explore somatic practices as well, as a way to support rebuilding a relationship with our bodies through these symptoms and a place to be heard and loved in places of systems and institutions and why your emotional health is our mental health.

These circles will incorporate psycho-education, somatic health and breathwork to get participants in their somatic bodies to begin to process trauma. We are coming together in somatic movement during the group processing circle so that debriefing, trauma care and systemic care can be processed.

Frequently asked questions

Are these circles only for someone who has experienced trauma or managing symptoms of mental health?

No, if you are a person curious about wellness, self-care and/or in the field of mental health and wellness you are welcome to participate. Those who are working towards managing symptoms of emotional health and mental wellness are also welcome as we are a neutral and inclusive exploration space.

Organized by

WELCOME TO THE TRAUMA & EMBODIMENT ASSOCIATION OF ONTARIO

TEAO is a start-up non-profit organization that will provide high-quality, embodied, trauma-informed and culturally-competent services for youth and adults/families in Ontario. Our focus is on prevention and recovery, providing advocacy for vulnerable and marginalized community members, and challenging the root causes of oppression within the healthcare system. We hope to weave a web of interconnected and trauma-informed mental health services across Ontario, so that no one who needs support slips through the cracks

We all have “unconsciously rooted” stories. These stories are connected to our bodies and lived out in the unspoken language between each other's bodies. For example, our uncomfortable or ‘’over” comfortable feelings, guilt, shame, anger, fear - these may be projected into our diverse community spaces if left unconscious. Once conscious, we can bring these feelings to visibility by being authentic in the shared experience.
