Join us for an insightful event for parents and care-givers where we delve into the impact of screen time and social media on children's mental health. Our guest speaker, Dr. Cheryl MacLeod from The Family Psychology Place, will share valuable information and tips on how to navigate the digital world while prioritizing your child's well-being!
Cheryl Gilbert MacLeod, PhD., has over 20 years of clinical experience working with children, teens, and their families. She uses evidence-based practices which are primarily cognitive-behavioural in nature. She has worked at two tertiary care children's hospitals during her career: the IWK Health Centre in Halifax Nova Scotia and the Alberta Children's Hospital here in Calgary.
Dr. Cheryl, as many families know her, offers evidence based treatment for children, teens and their families who are struggling with anxiety and/or depression, selective mutism, sleep problems, picky eating, behavioural issues (ADHD, parenting), and health psychology concerns (medical/dental compliance, headaches, phobias, obesity, etc.). She specializes in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, anxiety disorders, repetitive behaviour disorders (hair pulling, thumb sucking), Tourette’s Syndrome and tic disorders, and teaching children to swallow pills for prescribed medications. She is also skilled in providing comprehensive psychological and Psycho-Educational Assessments.
