About this event

  • Event lasts 7 hours

Housing policy has become an urgent topic in discussions of everyday life in Canada. The Housing Forum on Intergenerational Inequality aims to bring together experts, innovators, and stakeholders from various sectors to discuss and address the pressing issue of intergenerational inequality and housing policy. Specifically, we are interested in raising awareness of how Canadian political parties are or are not integrating intergenerational concerns into the policy process.

In this context the essential question is whether and how the political system can generate responses such that costs for housing to become affordable again. How are younger voters able to express their disenchantment with current housing dynamics politically? Do younger generations currently excluded from home ownership and reasonable rental costs have a viable political path to solve these problems?

The symposium will be held on February 20, 2025 at the Senate and Board Chambers on Laurier Waterloo Campus.

The symposium will be free to attend with lunch provided.
