Overview

In a profession shaped by pressure and unpredictability, emergency care providers continue to adapt, lead, and show up; often without pause.

Emergency care doesn’t stand still... and neither do we.

But even the most dedicated teams need space to reset.
The Next Shift: Advancing Emergency Care isn’t just a conference. It’s a chance to reflect, recharge, and reconnect with the heart of why we do what we do.

The Emergency Nurses Association of British Columbia is proud to present its 2025 conference, The Next Shift: Advancing Emergency Care, a gathering dedicated to shaping the future of emergency nursing through connection, innovation, and practical progress.

This year’s event brings together emergency nurses, clinicians, and healthcare professionals to explore what’s next for our field. The theme invites us to think practically and purposefully about how emergency care is evolving and how we can lead that change from the frontlines.

Over three inspiring days in beautiful Whistler, BC, we’ll gather to share ideas, build skills, and connect with others who understand the challenges and opportunities of this work. From shifting roles to system-wide change, this conference is about real progress, real practice, and real connection.

Conference Theme

“The Next Shift” is about more than what’s coming, it’s about how we meet the future head-on.

Our focus this year is on innovation, adaptation, and advancement within emergency care. As systems shift and demands evolve, emergency nurses continue to play a critical role in shaping how care is delivered. This conference provides a space to reflect, learn, and prepare for what’s next; with a strong emphasis on practical strategies and meaningful collaboration.
