Shipyards Food Tour

On this 3 hour walking food tour you will learn about the early ship building industry as you savour a delicious culinary experience. Enjoy visits to local market merchants in the famous Lonsdale Quay Market and the surrounding waterfront Shipyards District, showcasing a wide range of cuisines. Enjoy delicious tastings such as Lebanese Mezze platter, home made soup, pizza, donuts & fried chicken, ice-cream and chocolate and try local beer and wine. Enjoy the scenic waterfront views while our fun and engaging storytelling tour guides will ensure you have a fun and entertaining afternoon.

Location: North Vancouver

Schedule: 7 days a week

Time: 2:00 – 5:00 pm

Tour Size: Up to 16 persons

Includes: 9 stops, 6 food tastings & 2 alcoholic tastings (non-alcoholic options available)

Special Dietary Requests: Vegetarian requests an be accommodated.

Meeting location: Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver, outside Starbucks beside Seabus entrance.

Frequently asked questions

How much food is served on the tour?

We make several stops for food and beverage tastings. For most people, there is enough food tastings that they feel they had a full meal. You should come hungry!

How much walking is involved?

We sit down at a few venues. We like to think of it as a leisurely stroll. 3 stops are sit down, 6 stops are standing. We walk at a very casual pace and the tour is about 6 city blocks. One block is uphill.Wheelchairs and & strollers can be accommodated.

Food allergies or special dietary restrictions

Only vegetarian requests can be accommodated. We cannot take responsibility for any allergic reactions. If you have any special dietary requests, we recommend The Gastown Tour instead.

Are alcoholic beverages included?

Yes, 3 alcoholic drink tastings are included. We offer non-alcoholic options. Alcohol can only be served to tour guests over 19 years of age (As per BC Liquor Law). Tour guides reserves the right to ask for 2 pieces of ID. We don’t accept anyone underage of 19 without an accompanied adult.

How many people can attend a tour?

There is a maximum of 16 people per tour, and we require a minimum of 4 guests for a tour to operate. We reserve the right to cancel any tour that has less than 4 tour guests.

Are tickets refundable?

Tickets are 100% refundable with the option to reschedule with 24 hours advance notice. No refunds for no show or late comers.

Is the tour operating in bad weather?

Tour operates rain or shine. Vancouver tends to get a lot of rain October-April. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather on the day of your tour.

Are tours offered only in English?

Yes, we currently only offer tours in English.

Does the tour accept children?

Children are welcome on all our tours. Please bear in mind that some children may struggle to stay focused for the duration of a 3-hour tour. Tours are typically quite structured and focused, meaning it may not be appropriate for all children.

Are dogs allowed on the tour?

Due to the health regulations that govern the various food establishments we visit; pets of any kind are not allowed on our tours. Only authorized guide dogs are allowed.

Is tour wheelchair accessible?

Tour cancellations

If a tour does not meet the minimum required number of 4 tour guests, Taste Vancouver Food Tours reserves the right to cancel the tour and reschedule tour guests to another date or give a refund.
