To help individuals advance their careers, the Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre, in partnership with Lighthouse Labs, is excited to offer transformative essential skills training courses on teamwork, collaboration, communication, problem solving, and critical thinking in the workplace.
This training is available at no cost to eligible applicants thanks to the ICT Boost Initiative - a program funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program (SWSP).
Eligible participants must be:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Currently residing in Canada
- A Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
- Legally entitled to work in Canada (According to the relevant provincial and federal legislation and regulations)
Research has shown that 95% of people believe they accurately understand the impressions they make on others. But the same study also shows that most of those people were wrong! Only 10-15% of people truly understood how others saw them.
How is your Self Awareness affecting your job search? Join this workshop to help you better understand your own emotions, cultural factors in communication, and how to best communicate with employers about your value as an employee.
In this course, participants will:
• Discuss self awareness as a component of emotional intelligence
• Evaluate their individual self awareness abilities as a job seeker
Describe emotional responses to stressful job search elements
• Discuss ways to leverage your “inner critic/coach” to support you in communicating with employers
Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate.
