Join IWB Immigrant Women In Busieness for a vital training session that focuses on fostering a deeper understanding of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Anti-Racism. This training is specifically designed for immigrants and newcomers who wish to navigate these crucial social issues while building resilience and community support.

Training Objectives:

  1. Understanding EDI Principles: Participants will explore the foundational concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion. We will discuss why these principles are essential in creating fair and supportive environments, both in personal and professional settings.
  2. Awareness of Gender-Based Violence: The session will provide insights into the forms and impacts of gender-based violence, including statistics, cultural sensitivities, and resources available for support. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of GBV and understand its broader societal implications.
  3. Combatting Racism: This part of the training will address the importance of anti-racism, defining what it means to be anti-racist and exploring practical strategies to combat systemic racism. We will engage in conversations about privilege, bias, and the ways to create inclusive spaces for all.
  4. Building Allyship and Community: The training will emphasize the significance of allyship in promoting equity and inclusion. Participants will learn how to support each other, advocate for change, and foster a sense of belonging within their communities.
