About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

This year we’re so excited to be again hosting our third annual Kids’ Main Street workshops as part of the TSA’s Gingerbread City. Kids’ Main Street is a unique program for the youngest designers in the family, inviting children to be a part of Gingerbread City by designing and decorating their very own Main Street façades (architect speak for the front of a building). At the end of each session, participants will have their creations photographed and collaged into our digital Main Street that they can visit online on the TSA’s website (which means they’ll get to keep their creations!).

Kids’ Main Street workshops will be offered on December 7 at the following times:

  • 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Session 1)
  • 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Session 2)

Location: Centre for Social Innovation: Spadina, 192 Spadina Ave (Room 101, Second Floor, accessible via stairs and elevator) .

This program should make for a fun and delicious day! And the best part? We clean up all the mess! We hope you’ll join us as the designers of our new Gingerbread City Main Street – spaces are limited so make sure to register soon!

What’s included with my ticket?

Your ticket includes a reserved spot for one child & one guardian to join us for that session. Everything required for the workshop, including the gingerbread template cookie and plenty of decorations, will be supplied.

What is the age recommendation for this program?

Kids' Main Street is ideal for kids ages 7-11, but we welcome children of all ages!

What about allergies & food sensitivities?

Although the gingerbread is nut-free and we will not use any nuts or nut products, we cannot guarantee that all the candy/decorations did not come in contact with nuts. We will also have a limited quantity of rice krispie templates available. Please let us know of any allergies upon registration.

How long is the activity?

While we have scheduled each session for 2 hours, depending on how much finer detail the kids want to put into their creations, they may start wrapping up their pieces closer to about 1.5 hours.
