About the Event

Uncensored Dialogues: Indigenous and Islamic Knowledge Keeper Conversation is a transformative event designed to bring together Indigenous and Islamic Knowledge Keepers for an open and insightful conversation on spirituality, cultural resilience, identity, and the role of cultural traditions in addressing modern challenges. Hosted by Focus Hub Inc., this event provides a rare platform for interfaith and intercultural dialogue, fostering connections and understanding within the Winnipeg community; and also dealing with taboo topics and queries.

The event features compelling talks by Knowledge Keepers from both communities, followed by a Q&A and open discussion. This format allows attendees to actively engage with speakers, gaining firsthand insights and appreciating the shared values within these distinct cultural traditions.

Why This Event Matters

This gathering serves as an opportunity for Indigenous and Muslim communities to come together in dialogue, celebrate their cultural heritage, and share perspectives on resilience and identity in today’s society. In a world increasingly polarized by misunderstanding, Uncensored Dialogues works to bridge gaps and create a space for respectful, meaningful conversation.

Key objectives of the event:

  • Promote understanding: Help bridge gaps and dismantle stereotypes by highlighting shared values and practices.
  • Strengthen community connections: Foster a network of cultural exchange and mutual support between Indigenous and Muslim communities.
  • Celebrate resilience: Showcase the strength and resilience of Indigenous and Islamic identities in contemporary Canada.
