Join us for an informative and empowering session on navigating the child and family intervention system in Alberta. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, or community advocate, understanding the legal processes and rights within the Child Welfare System is crucial.

In this session, Erin Ramsperger, Legal Counsel & Program Lead at Calgary Legal Guidance, will provide an overview of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act and An Act Respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis Children, Youth and Families. You’ll learn what to expect from the moment a family is reported to Child and Family Services (CFS), through to investigation and various interventions such as Family Enhancement Agreements, Supervision Orders, and Guardianship Orders. Erin will also discuss national minimum standards for working with Indigenous children and share strategies for navigating the system effectively.
