About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Meet umeshu, a Japanese liqueur made from ume, a fruit closely related to the apricot. While many store-bought umeshu varieties rely on artificial additives, CHOYA’s umeshu is crafted using only natural ingredients: ume fruit, sugar, and distilled spirits. With over 100 years of history, CHOYA is Japan’s largest and most renowned umeshu producer.

Join CHOYA Brand Ambassador Shinji Inaba and the President of the Sake Association of British Columbia (SABC) Yuki Konishi for an immersive flavour journey.

A CHOYA cocktail created by Winnie Sun paired with a small plate will be included in the seminar.

In its fourth year, Vancouver Cocktail Week is a toast to the art of the cocktail, and so much more. It is a destination event that celebrates the vibrant culture of food and drink in a city that is a hub of cocktail creativity, its multi-award-winning bartenders ambassadors for all that makes this such an exciting culinary community. This event will give those talented bartenders the showcase they deserve—and serve up delicious fun for consumers, too.

VCW 2025 Presented by The Alchemist Magazine celebrates the city’s cocktail culture with eight days of events designed to appeal to industry, consumers, visitors and media alike.
