About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join us for a special edition of Wandering Wednesdays as we explore a new trail on a beautiful Nature Conservancy Canada property! The forecast predicts a chilly 1°C with some snow, so bundle up and get ready for a winter adventure.

We’ll be wandering through a mixed habitat that includes stunning oak savannah and tallgrass prairies, with Big Creek running through the property. It’s a perfect opportunity to enjoy the serene winter landscape and discover the unique beauty of this conservation area.

Important Note: Google Maps doesn’t have the location quite right, so please pay close attention to the map provided in this invitation to ensure you find the meeting spot #2 property at the CBC P2 gate. You will see 920 green 911 road sign.

What to Bring:

  • Warm clothing and sturdy footwear
  • Water and snacks
  • A sense of adventure!

We look forward to seeing you there and sharing this wonderful winter experience together. Let’s embrace the season and enjoy the great outdoors!

Long Point Biosphere Region is a non-profit registered Canadian charity.

The Long Point World Biosphere Reserve Foundation promotes research, monitoring, community outreach and education, partnerships, and projects that support the goals of biodiversity, conservation and sustainable communities in Norfolk County. We exchange information and work collaboratively with the Canadian Biosphere Reserves Association, as well as other biosphere reserves in Canada and around the world. Our World Biosphere Reserve designation by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and Man and Biosphere program does not bring with it any new authorities over lands, water or resources.

The Long Point Biosphere Region is an area of global ecological significance that makes an ongoing commitment to the United Nations to strive for sustainability. Visitors and residents are inspired to coexist in harmony with nature. It is located in Norfolk County, on the north shore of Lake Erie in the heart of Carolinian Canada. Hosting more endangered species per-capita than the rest of Canada, it is home to the greatest number of plants and animals and the highest densities of wildlife in all of Canada.
