About the instructor
Helga Strauss is an artist, educator, and therapeutic arts practitioner. She is also a tree lover and writes a monthly column called Glorious Trees in our Neighborhood for the James Bay Beacon. In her personal art practice, she creates art every day, following her joy and curiosity. As a teacher for over 30 years, she encourages her students to do the same. Her mission is to help people spark joy, connection, and healing through creative, art-filled play. Find her at HelgaStrauss.com.

Frequently asked questions

Accessibility

Please note this workshop typically takes place in a classroom on the second floor of Carr House. Please reach out to events@carrhouse.ca with any requests, questions, or concerns regarding accessibility of the workshop, and we will do our best to accommodate!

Parking

Visitors are welcome to park in our driveway during visits. As a historic site, please note parking is limited. While we do have room for approximately 5 vehicles, free parking is also available at Beacon Hill Park (a short walk away). Vehicles must be able to drive around the driveway at all times.

Cancellation

As a small organization, Carr House reserves the right to cancel any workshop if minimum registration is not met. Participants may cancel their registration at any time (see "Refunds" below for more information).

Refunds

If Carr House cancels a workshop, you will receive a full refund (fees included). Participants who request a refund will receive a refund minus Eventbrite fees. No refunds will be issued if requested less than 24 hours before the event start time, as our instructors work hard to prepare for classes!

Last-minute registration

As a small heritage organization, Carr House and its third parties work hard to deliver public-facing events and workshops. To allow appropriate time for our instructors to prepare, workshop registration closes 24 hours before the event start time. Staff cannot take cash or cheques for registration.

What age group is the class for? Can children register?
