Calling all book-lovers!

All of us here at Where Faeries Live are awfully fond of books, and all the knowledge they allow us to share. So come down to celebrate the written word with us!

There'll be a Magical Book & Deck Exchange!
Haven't we all got a few books or decks we've purchased but no longer need or use? Instead of throwing them away, dropping them off at a thrift store, or leaving them to take up valuable shelf space, how about you trade them for something different?

  1. Bring your gently-used, no longer needed magical books & decks down to Where Faeries Live from November 15th and 23rd. We'll accept any non-fiction books about Paganism, witchcraft, paranormal, mythological, and New Age topics; Pagan, witchy, and mythological books for kids; Tarot, oracle, Lenormand, etc. decks*
  2. You'll recieve one voucher for each book or deck you bring in.
  3. On February 24th, bring your vouchers when you come down to WFL. You'll get to pick out one deck or book for each voucher you have.

There'll be a book sale!
Details to come! (Keep an eye on our socials!)

There will be a fundraiser, too!
Don't have any books or decks you're ready to trade? Snag yourself one of the by-donation Eventbrite tickets and you'll get a voucher for the exchange! Limited quantities available. One donation ticket per person. Tickets purchased under duplicate names/email addresses will be cancelled.

Who's the fundraiser for? Well...we haven't quite decided yet. More details to come!

*Please note: We reserve the right to decline any book or deck that is written in, damaged beyond "regular wear and tear," doesn't fit the topic/genre guidelines, or that is known to include harmful/bigoted/hateful information or be written by someone who vocalizes such views.

Frequently asked questions

What sorts of books and decks can I bring in for the exchange?

We'll take in non-fiction books on Paganism, witchcraft, mythological, paranormal, and New Age topics of all sorts! We'll also happily take in kids books on Paganism, witchcraft, and mythology. As for decks, we'll take in any sort of divination deck, including Tarot and oracle decks.

When do I bring in my books and decks for the exchange?

Bring your gently-loved books and decks down to WFL during store hours from November 15th to 23rd.

Can I bring by books to exchange on February 24th?

Sorry, but no. We'll need time to organize the books and decks. And having the exchange happen at a later date allows everyone to have the same chance to pick out from all of the items.

What if someone brings in a heavily damaged or incomplete book or deck?

We'll be inspecting each book and deck before accepting them. We won't take in any books or decks that show too much obvious damage, including excessive writing inside, missing pages/cards, water damage, etc. Expect books to show a reasonable amount of wear-and-tear.

What if I lose or forget my vouchers?

We cannot replace the vouchers. Please keep them somewhere safe.

What are these vouchers?

You'll receive one voucher for each book or deck we accept for the exchange. On Nov 30th, each voucher is good for your choice of one book or deck that someone else brought in.

What if I don't use all my vouchers?

If you don't use all your vouchers, you can redeem any remaining ones for $5 off a regular-priced $10+ item in-store. One voucher per item. Valid ONLY on Saturday, November 30th. They cannot be applied to consignment items, discounted items, holds, layaways, or previous purchases.

Can I reserve books or decks in the exchange?

Nope. It's first come, first served for the book exchange.

What'll the book sale be?

That's another detail we're still figuring out. We'll announce the sale details closer to the 30th. Follow our socials for updates!
