About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours 30 minutes

This is an early, exclusive pre-screening of the film When Leaves Turn Yellow, part of the Culture Killers Culture Healers series, and directed by Paul Ruggieri. The screening will take place in the Hole in the Wall, above River Bookshop, as part of a weekend recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reonciliation.

This documentary exposes the trauma experienced by indigenous children within residential boarding schools. The stories of people who have healed and how they healed will be woven throughout the film. This project will create awareness of the efforts to kill a culture and the possibilities of healing through unique paths to wellness.

Learned abusive behavior is now enculturated into their families and handed down through generations. Healing is possible and intergenerational abuse, repeated as learned behavior, can end for all people.
