September 19: Olympic Spirit: Building Character and Community

Presenter: Martin Glynn was a Bobsleigh Pilot at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games. His firsthand experience as an Olympian provides deep insights into the values of Olympism, including perseverance, teamwork, and excellence. In this session, participants will learn about the elements of Olympism, engage in collaborative exercises to build teamwork and understanding, and leave with renewed purpose, motivation, and practical ideas for incorporating the Olympic spirit into their lives.


September 26: 49 Years Skating and Still Rolling - How Skateboarding Brings Me Joy, Sparked a Career Change and an Opportunity to Work With Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen (and a ton more legends!)

Presenter: Michael Brooke has had a wide variety of careers and callings in his life. He has written books, published a skateboarding magazine, started businesses, worked as a funeral director’s assistant, and birthed non-profit organizations. In this session, Michael will guide participants through exercises to uncover their core values, modes of operation, and strengths. In knowing ourselves better, we can connect with a clearer career path and realize there are opportunities available that will allow us to shine.

Presenter: Ming-Jian Wang, Mechanical Engineer. Slush ice, beyond its enjoyable role at parties, represents a modern technology with significant advantages in cooling efficiency and sustainability across industries. Join Mechanical Engineer Ming-Jian Wang as he delves into the physics of slush ice and its superiority over traditional cooling and process methods. It highlights the evolution of the technology and showcases its diverse applications in food preservation, water management, air-conditioning, and medical operations.
