Week 1: Introduction Session


Introduce facilitators and provide an overview of the purpose of the group, expectations, and how each session will be structured.

Week 2: Understanding Social Connections


Discuss the importance of social connections and different types of friendships, and how expectations might differ from childhood.

Week 3: Overcoming Barriers


Identify common obstacles to making friends and strategies to overcome them.

Week 4: Communication Skills


Effective communication techniques, including active listening and expressing oneself.

Week 5: Finding Common Interests


Explore ways to find and engage in activities where potential friends may be.

Week 6: Building and Maintaining Relationships


Discuss how to nurture and sustain friendships over time.

Week 7: Handling Conflicts


Learn conflict resolution skills to manage disagreements and misunderstandings in friendships.

Week 8: Wrap-up Session


Discuss next steps, future offerings, and opportunity to share progress and feedback.

About this event

Welcome to Women Building Friendships and Connections!

Are you struggling to find meaningful connections and community in adulthood? Many of us face this challenge, and it can be difficult to know where to start.

Our online group will provide guidance and support on how to make friends and find connections. While making friends within the group is an option, our primary focus is on equipping you with the skills and confidence to build relationships in your everyday life. Join us to share experiences, gain insights, and learn practical strategies for creating and sustaining meaningful connections.

The sessions will be run by Stacy Finch (RCC) and Ammara Wood (Neurodivergent Support Specialist).

Please join us for 8 weeks of connecting with and supporting others on a journey towards creating meaningful friendship.

Registered participants will receive a reminder the day before the session containing the Zoom Link. All correspondence will be sent to the email provided during registration.

What is the refund policy?

Careful consideration of group dynamics and common topics of interest have been curated to deliver the optimal experience. As such, no refunds will be provided.

Organized by

Stacy Finch is a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC) with over two decades of experience in the field of mental health. Specializing in trauma and neurodivergence, Stacy is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life's challenges with resilience and self-compassion.

With a background in facilitating and counseling since 2001, she has honed her expertise in working with parents, adults, and First Nations communities. Stacy offers a holistic approach to mental health, combining evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of her clients' unique needs, all within a supportive, virtual environment.

Ammara Wood is a Neurodiversity Support Specialist, Facilitator, and Business Consultant with demonstrated experience in Higher Education, private and non-profit sectors.

As the Founder of BlissfullyND Consulting, she leverages her perspective as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent, Black, mother of two ND kids, to provide strengths-based coaching for neurodivergent individuals; and collaborates with organizations to transform their teams and styles of working to be more inclusive by design.

She centers cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and relationship-building in her coaching approach, facilitation style, and work in business process optimization. Her mission is to contribute to building people-first environments that value diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
