In this hour-long session, discover how to bring your book from concept to reality. We’ll guide you through the essential steps, from interior design and cover choices to manuscript formatting for e-books and print, plus insights into print-on-demand services and marketing strategies.

Meet Your Facilitator:

Patti Murphy is a writer and educator with over thirty years of classroom experience. She believes it's never too late to learn new skills or become the person you were always meant to be.

Patti is the author of The Stafford Falls Series, with the first book nominated for the 2021 Independent Audiobook Award in the LGBTQ+ category. Originally from Penetanguishene, she now resides in Ottawa with her partner and their spirited Tibetan spaniel, Arthur.

About the Woven Word Symposium:

The Woven Word Symposium, taking place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, is a full-day celebration of storytelling and writing. It brings together authors and aspiring writers for a variety of workshops and events. Participants can explore topics such as writing for children, self-publishing, and memoir writing. The day also offers opportunities to join an open mic poetry session and attend a slam poetry performance. In the afternoon, a Reader's Marketplace will showcase children's, adult, and young adult authors, with their books available for purchase. The event will conclude with a special evening workshop on writing for monologue performance.
