Writing from My Life Across Genres
with Author, Marie Prins
Muskoka Authors Association welcomes author, Marie Prins, as our guest speaker on Thursday, November 14. Prins will share her eclectic writing journey taking inspiration from her life to write across multiple genres: Memoir, Nature-Literature, Poetry, Children’s Stories, Novels, and Picture Books.
Marie Prins lives in a historic, octagonal house that inspired her 2020 mid-grade novel The Girl From the Attic. The spark for her 2024 debut picture book Who’s Walking Dawg? was lit by her mischievous dog Chester. Her memoir and nature pieces appear in four Hill Spirits Anthologies (Blue Denim Press).
Arm-chair bird watching, gardening, musing on life in her pond are some of Prins’ passions. She also tutors remedial reading to young children. Her artist husband and a cat share Prins’ life near Lake Ontario, east of Toronto.
