YOUTH Mental Health First Aid - 1 day trainings

IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW - PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION & INSTRUCTIONS

What is Mental Health First Aid?

MHFA has been proven to help reduce the negative stigma surrounding mental illness. Additionally, MHFA will help participants become more aware of mental health services and resources available in their community and encourage them to assist adults and youth who may be experiencing mental health or substance use issues by linking them to referral and support sources.

What are the requirements for this course and certification?

The this course is a virtual course for 7 hours (lunch and breaks included). You must get a ticket here on Eventbrite for ILT (Instructor Led Training).

For full registration in course you must:

1. Create an account on the Mental Health First Aid website using the email you use to register here
2. accept the MHFA course invite that will be sent to your email (check spam/junk mailbox as well)

You will not be in the training until these steps are completed. Once you have accepted the MHFA website invitation, it may take up to 1 business day for the course to appear in your MHFA dashboard.

** Please DO NOT register multiple times for any reason. All registrations will be cancelled if there are multiple registrations

** Please register with an email that you have access to at all times. This is the email we will use to contact you with any information or notifications about the course.

** Registrations will be processed and correspondence is available Mon - Fri 8am-4:30pm (excluding holidays). Any registrations after Fri 4:00pm will be processed on the following business day after 8am.

2hrs of pre-ILT course work (at 69% in course)MUST be completed 1 business day prior to ILT.

Upon completion of the pre-ILT course work, on the MHFA website, you will have access to the ZOOM link on the ILT page in the course to attend the ILT portion of the course. The ZOOM link will also be emailed THE MORNING OF THE Instructor Led Training (ILT) if you have completed the pre-ILT coursework, at 69% in the course.

For full participation in ILT portion of course you must:

1. Have your own device 1 device per each registration (cannot use one computer/laptop for multiple users
2. Have headphones if you will be in a room with other registrants to minimize noise interference during course
3. Log in at least 15 min prior to ILT start time to ensure you can connect to the course via ZOOM
4. Change your ZOOM account name to show name you registered with for attendance purposes
5. Make sure your video and audio are working properly on your device

** Please DO NOT share computers/laptops during ILT portion of course

To receive your MHFA certification you must:

1. Complete pre-ILT course work (at 69% in the course, download PPG, and at the ILT slide)
2. Attend and participate in the entire ILT portion of the course
3. Complete post-ILT course work

You will NOT be MHFA certified until ALL these steps are complete.

CANCELLATION/WAITING LIST

If you no longer with to take the course please email, communityresearch@sycamores.org or cancel your purchase here on Eventbrite.

If you do not accept the MHFA invitation to be added to the course within 2 days of registering we will CANCEL your registration.

If you do not complete pre-ILT course work 24 hours prior to the day of ILT we will CANCEL your registration.

If you do not begin pre-ILT course work we may CANCEL your registration.

If you do not respond to notification/due date emails when confirmation is requested, we may CANCEL your registration.

If the course is full, please feel free to sign up for the waiting list in case of any cancellations.
