The Cariboo Heights Forest Preservation Society

We work with youth, community and local government to educate an advocate for the preservation of the forest, streams and wildlife in the Cariboo Heights Forest. This is the last unprotected forest int eh Brunette river watershed. A hidden gem -- it is also known as Burnaby's Secret Forest!

We bring together a community of volunteers to:

1. Lobby the City of Burnaby to protect the Cariboo Heights forest from all development

2. Engage youth and community in stewardship activities

3. Educate the public about the forest's historical and ecological importance

4. Support environmental research in the Brunette River watershed

5. Measure water quality in the creeks

6. Conduct bird surveys

7. Document biodiversity

We have many volunteer opportunities as well as events families can attend.
